Thanks Tal, I agree, but I am hesitant on refinishing the stand, but black has crossed my mind.

The "hammered metal" spray paint gives a real nice finish but I don't know if I'd want to paint so close to the tank even if you masked it off real well.  Brushing on black and a poly coat would be the safest I suppose.

Mike,

That looks awesome, very professional.

I've seen pros do something similar to that, and it has not looked that good. You should be proud...Hats off to ya[]

I really like the buttons under the screws. Nice clean look.

So when ya going into production of these things?  I think they would sell.

Tal, that is exactly why I don't want to paint... worried.

Thanks Steve! This project took me way longer then I thought, but it was fuN! As for building these, I don't think so... even though the next one would be easier then this one.

Way cool Mike! It'll be so much easier with the Sunlifts.

Did you check out that tiled stand?

Ya, I did!  Sonny's stand is very cool, but the tile would not go with living room any better then the current wood does.

Thanks Chad, I am going to work on a top down box soon.

WOW, that is an awesome canopy, very modern. Check out the stand I am going to build for my next tank, I think it would go will with your canopy.

Check out my inspiration for the stand here: http://s68.photobucket.com/albums/i4/hopkinsag1/75%20Cube/

Re: RE: Poseidon's 90 gallon SPS Reef (permalink)
Well, bad news today. My wife woke me up to say the tank looked like MILK!!!!! I instantly knew what that was the KALK REACTOR! The tank is in fact quite cloudy, not milk though. I ran out of pH tests, so I used the pH probe from my Ca reactor to check the tank pH and it was 7.8. PHEW!!!! I did a water change, about 20 gallons or so, and I am mixing up some more water as I type this. So far the corals look fine, no sliming or any flesh sloughing off at this point. I have a family function that I have to attend, by the time I get back the water should be read for a second water change if needed. Wish me luck!
