Indo- Lagoon 45g AIO Cube - Thursday, June 17, 2010 9:47 PM ( #1 ) Share
First, i realize i have another "planned tank thread." I intend to start that tank AND upgrade my 24g to this 45g All In One. Pending the bank actually closing my mortgage and me moving...

SO, i plan to have the the tank built by Great Lakes Aquariums and will have an in tank sump with 2 chambers and a 1000 gph return pump. Standard dimensions apply 24x24x18. I plan to have a lid on the tank.

As for lighting, i plan to utilize one of the 2 bulb 24" AquaticLife HO T5 fixture and adding to it one of their 4 bulb fixtures with the built in timers and moonlights.

I plan on picking up a Ecotech Vortech MP10es and placing it on the back wall- possibly set on lagoon mode but ill have to play with it

As for livestock

Starting with a Hawaiian Black sand bed and a rock scape consisting of cured liverock and base hopefully in a crescent or horseshoe shape with a nice slope to it.

Most my initial coral will transfer from my existing system. Notables follow
     Red and Green Open Brain
3 Duncan frags with 2-3 full heads each and collectively 20 or so growing in
12 headed Red and Green Blasto merletti frag
12 headed frag of Red with green stripes Micromussa
2 Frags of Pagoda, green and Blue
3 heads of purple and green of Acans
3 splitting heads of neon green trumpet coral

          ***Yeah i like LPS***
     Various star polyps
     Various zoas
     Various mushrooms

Onto fish....
2x A. Percula- tend to pick a spot, found various places including the Indo Pacific

6-Line wrasse- swim around everywhere and like cracks and crevices, found in the Indo Pacific in dense reefs and sloping rock

Green Chromis- likes to swim in the open waters closer to the surface, found in the Indo Pacific on reef crests and lagoons

*Purple Firefish- Likes to swim 2-4" off the bottom and in currents, found in the Indo Pacific in open sandy patches

     AND/ OR

*Yellow Watchman Goby- A bottom dweller, found in the Indo Pacific in sandy lagoons

PLEASE
let me know what you think! I'd love to get some input and any first hand experience you can provide.

Things are coming along very nicely.. You're making much better progress than I am on getting my tank back up and running.

Looks nice.  Yeah, he's quicker than I.  Goes from planning to set up in a month and me, I've had a 200g since March that's not even in the house yet.

Josh, There is something to be said for taking it slow.
