Fishtal That's exactly how I plumbed mine, with the bulkheads in front and low for drainage, and the flex pipe for easy removal. I took quite a few of my plans from your system. I didn't end up using the flex pipe but I plumbed it the same way. I testing it and can pull the tank out if needed.

Lookin' good! Are you going to cap the open end of the drain pipe, or is it going to connect with something else?

Just a suggestion... I'd cut it back almost to the T when you cap it. If you leave it long you'll have the tendency to bump into it, or at least I would, LOL. I actually used an L at the end instead of a T so I didn't have to cap it.

I have been sick the last few days so I have not been able to do much. However, I did get started on putting the BRTs on a system. To do that I had to make another stand. It is going to go on the opposite wall of where the broodstock and grow out tanks are. I am going to have to move the 29 gal and the wire shelf that is currently there. Unfortunately, I don't have drawing but here is how it is going to be set up. The BRTs will be on top and will be plumbed into the rest of the system and draining in the sump. On the bottom will be 2 55 gallon tanks, one will be a cryptic sump and the other will be an additional grow out area. The current 29 gal refugium will also be placed in the bottom. All of this will be plumbed in the sump. Here is a pic of the stand construction. (I still need to add some supports to it)

Here is an updated on the latest progress over the last few days. Stand for BRT system is now installed and all tanks are now plumbed. Here a pic of everything install. Sorry still some mess to clean up Bottom section (cryptic sump in the back, refugium in the front) Bulkheads installed on BRTs All that is left now is to plumb the drains for the the BRTs and plumb the returns for the both the BRTs and Broodstock/Growout tanks, and fill with water

I finally have finished plumbing everything into the system. I ended up running the breeding system return lines off of a mag 3 that I had. Here are the pics of everything completed Full set up pic Right side Left side 65 gal salt mixing tank. I can open a valve and do 65 gal water changes without lugging bucket around anymore. I just open a valve and the water will flow into the sump

I'm so jealous! I wish I had a basement, argh. It might just be the angle of the pic but, the ball valves seem to be a bit low. Unless you're keeping the water level low. You want the returning water to create some surface agitation, even if the pipe is an inch from the surface... see what I'm saying?

Good catch Tal... I hadn't noticed that before but it does look based on the standpipes that the ball valves would be underwater on some of the tanks.

I will probably end up adjusting those before I turn the system on. cmpenney Things are really coming along Mike. I'm totally jealous of your basement space! Thanks Chad! I am definately out of basement space now. I would have to expand any other fish items into the garage. A project I don't want to take on. LOL

That can be fixed by raising the horizontal up to the ceiling if you've cemented the the valves already. FWIW, I didn't cement the section after the valve so I can remove it when needed. That's very helpful with the new tops I installed.

The system is now complete. Water has been added, the pump has been started, and broodstock added. Here are some pics of the completed system Larval tanks Close up of larval system (I'll add micron mesh later) Broodstock system Clownfish tank Cardinal tank

Mike, looks awesome! Throw a 4' strip light (single tube) directly over the middle of both BRTs. Then, move the water inlet to the sides of the BRTs, away from the standpipe. Notice how the water drops rock the water in the larval tanks. If you move this to the side you will get a perfect combination of water/light gradients.
