Yup, I have AC here, so I should not have any issues as long as the house doesn't get hotter then 82... (Which it won't.) As for the fans, they were attached with a high grade 2 way tape from 3M. It worked great!

Here is the more...

First full tank shot at the house in Flint.... Where Jarrod and Mike came to help me move out of. I did not take any equipment pictures at the mobile home, nor did I really add much livestock. But I did make lots of changes at this place.

Check out my Blue Tort, Jan 06:

This piece sure looked cool as a frag... but it really changed into something quite different.

My trigger made the move from the 135 to the 90, then to the new house, but look how UNhappy my Blasto was in the background

1/9/06 I ended up cutting up the blasto and selling off most of it. The piece I kept is about the same size as what is in this picture, but it is VERY red and green, not like it is here.

Did you ever have any problems with that Butterfly going after your coral?

That was a "threadfin" butterfly, and YES, he did take out my Galaxea overnight. He was behaving just fine, then all of a sudden POW! That colony was about the size of my fist, so it was a rather large piece. After that, I removed all the other LPS, except the trumpet coral, and blasto, then he (the butterfly) disappeared. Since all the LPS gone, I just went to SPS, and haven't looked back.

My clowns started hosting in Red Cap!!!

Here is my Red/blue milli that I bought from Raptor, it was TINY!

It was pretty crowded under the tank before I put in the basement sump, check out where the UV is, up high!!!

Was he eating prepared food for you? I;ve been tossing around the idea of putting some sort of butterfly in my tank but I haven't been able to decide which one..

I really like the milli too. Has it done well for you?

Yes, he was eating frozen Mysis, and then he even ate Spectrum Pellets! I liked that fish, and it took out Aiptasia like nobodies business. As for the Milli, YES it has done very well, except it was my biggest casualty when we moved here. I lost most of the colony, but I have 4-5 frags that are all larger then the one pictured, that I removed from the colony before the whole thing croaked.

Thanks Jarrod! As for the UV, I wanted something big enough that I could the water from the return pump into the UV then into the tank. The 57W unit allows me to pass just over 1000 gph and still get the exposure to kill C. Irritans.

Thanks Mike! It is fun to put this together, all in one place. I have over 400 pictures in my Reefland gallery, and a few more in my smugmug gallery too. I like the reefland gallery, cause it provides the links for posting, but I like smugmug cause I can load up whole folders at once, instead of one by one.

Well after that shot of the sump, here is the "next generation" sump:

This is the earliest picture of my basement sump, the bucket has my Chaeato in it, I had drilled LOTS of holes in the bucket to allow for lots of water movement. I used the clamp light just like I had on the sump under the tank. It is amazing how much room I had on that shelf before the Kalk reactor, and Calcium reactor.

More SPS:

This is one fast growing stag!

Blue tort was not very happy at this point:

Wait until you see an updated picture of these two, you won't believe it!

All 3 fish in this picture are no longer with me,

RE: Poseidon's 90 gallon SPS Reef (permalink)
This cracked me up...

Check out that neon green Milli! It was a 1" frag in this picture.

Green Table:

Red Table:

Blue Milli

Boy those are all so SMALL!!!! All of those pictures were taken in July 2006.

I tried a trio of Anthias once, this is the only good picture I have of my male, he disappeared later the same week. I bought 2 females and this male, I never saw the females after I added them to the tank, and this male was only around a few days.

How about a distraction, this is Bailey, Logan's bearded dragon:

I definitely have to take a new pic of him, he is about 20" long now!

My blue polyped Monti from BeakerBob, it was about 1" square, I added it to the same rock as the green and purple monti's I pictured earlier. You can imagine what that rock looks like today!... I'll have to take a new one so you can REALLY see it....

Blue Milli encrusting:

And another FTS, this one from October 2006

I think I have a frag of that Blue Encrusting Monti too Mike. I couldn't remember who I got it from but it looks just like the one in that picture. I guess you solved the mystery!

This is an amusing image.... Check out the slug kickicking up the sand....

How about a self portrait?

This is a cool pic, from Brent's tank, top down....

Here is an updated sump pic, in this shot, you can see the chaeato is now held in a eggcrate basket fashioned by me... Functional, but not pretty. Better then the bucket though. I also added my Kalk reactor in this picture, at this point I was using a timer to replace evap water. I figured out that I evaporated pretty close to 3 gallons a day, and I had a pump that moved .8 gallons per hour. (Aqua medic dosing pump.) It was simple math to figure out I needed just over 3 hours to replace 3 gallons. It worked well, but I had to adjust it occasionally for the weather.

Also at this point I was using an Iwaki 70RLT to drive the whole system, skimmer included.

Here is my valve manifold:

The valve on the left went to the chiller, the valve on the left to the UV then directly into the skimmer, and everything that didn't go to one of those 2, went to the tank upstairs. I had a penductor up top to "pressurize" that line as well. It seemed to work very well, but that pump was rather loud, and drew 360W!!! That is a LOT of power.

Here is the area behind the skimmer and Kalk reactor:

My chiller and skimmer waste bucket. Also visible is the MESS of cords and timers that made the whole thing work.

Yup, we are getting closer to the current evolution.

Here is some more pictures:

Reef Weed #1

Reef Weed #2

Brown SPS, blue tips

Tub's Birdsnest from JimsFlies, this thing is almost baseball sized now, but brown, as I had it on the DSB.

My 1x1" Square of Flower Pedal, this has been another good seller for me, used to buy more fish stuff!

Blue Milli:

I wish I could find another couple of these, I like them!

Here are couple of fairly recent pics:

Neat huh? []

These last batch are underexposed for effect, I liked it at the time, now I don't.

I love the pic of the Dottyback, looks like he's sticking his head through the glass. GSP is definetly a potential PITA, but I still love it (I don't have any though). It's best kept (IMO) on it's own private, and seperate, little reef pillar surrounded by sand bed. Easier to control it's "take over the world" growth this way.

Btw..Mike...your're doing great with the pics, but I still feel obligated to say...MORE...MORE...MORE!!! [][]
