The tank looks stunning!  I agree the blue paint looks nice too.

On the upgrade note. Have you considered a 150 high?  48L X 24W X 30 H

That skimmer is amazing!  I wonder why a bigger version isn't available?

Re:Poseidon's 90 gallon SPS Reef (permalink)
Hi AJ, thanks!

I don't really want the height, but 48x30x24... HMMM......

On the skimmer, it is really cranking out the crap.  Larger versions are supposed to be in the works.

The 120 should be very nice. (I seem to have forgotten you already have the glass for it) Doh!

I hope a bigger cone can keep similar wattage draws at least  comprable to the size increase.

Re:Poseidon's 90 gallon SPS Reef (permalink)
I'm sure they will be close AJ, the Sicce pumps draw only 21W with pinwheels!  So multiple pumps on a cone is an easy way to up the ante so to speak.  Another option is the laguna/askoll pumps that move more water and air.

I'm thinking an external cone with one of those Reeflo pinwheels is bound to show up soon.

seriously.. i would go as wide as you can.. if you can do 30 instead of 24 would be so worth it, I think that can make a tank more than height

Re:Poseidon's 90 gallon SPS Reef (permalink)
The wall that is next to my tank is 28" wide, so I have to stay under that, or else the tank will protrude into a hallway, which I don't want.  I may do a little digging around and see if I can come up with sides and bottom for a 48x27ish...  x24 high.  As long as I am doing DIY, I don't have to stick with 24 wide, but the glass could be a limiting factor.

Re:Poseidon's 90 gallon SPS Reef (permalink)
Remove the some dry wall and some studs and recess the tank into the wall, that'll get you another 3 1/2 inches to do the 48 x 30. No one will ever know .   Unless your neighbor decides to hang a picture right there

LOL!  Mike, I think they may notice....

Chad, you are right.  It will be a new thread for sure, plus it will start with the building of the tank, and the stand... How cool!

Somehow I'll bet the chances of a monkey flying and the chances of one coming out of my butt are about dead even
